The majority of the Fig Cuttings are available from our own and local CanadianFigs fig trees.
Special orders, custom orders, new varieties, or when we don’t have sufficient inventory of cuttings, we source and provide availability from our local verified premium suppliers.
Cutting Category: Standard, Premium, Specialty
Not all cuttings are the same. The majority of our cuttings are Premium cuttings. Some are also Standard. and some are Specialty.
Cutting Thickness: Standard, Thick, Jumbo
The majority of the Fig Cuttings are available in Standard (pencil / sharpie size). Some varieties may be available in Thick (1 inch), or Jumbo (over 1.5 inch). Typically the bigger and thicker the cutting the more stored energy…the higher the success rate, the bigger the tree. You are free to compare our cuttings to other sellers…
Cutting Length: Standard, Short, Long
A cutting standard size is considered at approximately 5-6 inches. At the same time, it must also have a minimum of 3 nodes. Some of the Long cuttings can easily reach 10-12 inches at 3 nodes.
Cutting Nodes: Standard (3-4 nodes)
All our fig cuttings have a minimum of 3 nodes. Some cuttings may have more than 4 nodes especially for tip or end cuttings where the nodes are more condensed but we would still need a minimum standard length of approx. 5-6 inches.
Fig Ratings (Star Ratings)
The star ratings assigned to various fig tree varieties are based on different factors such as: fruit quality, taste and flavor, reliability, productivity, proliferation, resistance and adaptability to Canadian climate, the specific variety strain that we have, as well as our own experience with the specific fig tree varieties. Not all fig tree varieties have been given a final rating yet. Some varieties are still pending assessments and require further consideration and analysis. Some varieties mature, reach peak productivity and fruit quality at different times and may also vary each season.
CanadianFigs – Fig Cuttings
Cuttings Types – Lignification, Dormancy, Colour
All fig tree cuttings are dormant cuttings.
All fig tree cuttings are lignified “hardwood“. None of the cuttings are green “softwood“
Fig tree cuttings may be brown or green.
Cuttings & Preparation
All fig tree cuttings are taken during the months of November, December, and January once the fig trees enter dormancy period.
All cuttings are carefully selected, cleaned, washed, inspected, tagged, and categorized.
All fig cuttings are sealed on both ends to ensure freshness over extended periods of time.
All fig cuttings are stored in proper controlled temperature environment until orders are filled and shipped.
All fig cuttings are wrapped in plastic wrap, labeled, and shipped in a Canada Post box.

- No Warranty: All fig cuttings are sold “as is” without any warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied.
- Limited Liability: CanadianFigs is not liable for any damage or loss resulting from the purchase or use of the fig cuttings. Our liability is strictly limited to the purchase price of the cuttings. We shall not be held responsible for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages related to the purchase or use of our products.
- Shipping Risks: Once the fig cuttings are shipped, CanadianFigs is not responsible for any damages, delays, or losses caused during transit. It’s the buyer’s responsibility to choose and pay for any insurance or expedited shipping if desired. While we take great care in packaging the fig cuttings to ensure they arrive in optimal condition, we cannot control external factors encountered during transit. This includes damages due to rough handling, exposure to extreme temperatures, or delays. Buyers have the option to purchase shipping insurance or use expedited services at an additional cost.
- Cultural and Import Restrictions: It is the buyer’s responsibility to be aware of and adhere to any local, province, state, or international regulations related to the import, transport, cultivation, and planting of fig cuttings. - Returns and Refunds: Due to the perishable nature of fig cuttings, all sales are final. Refunds or replacements will be considered only in extenuating circumstances and at the sole discretion of CanadianFigs.
